烏俄戰爭爆發，日本首相岸田文雄上週公開譴責俄羅斯入侵烏克蘭是「歷史性暴行」，隨即宣布取消俄最惠國貿易待遇，擴大對俄國精英的資產凍結，禁止部分產品進口，並計畫接收烏克蘭難民。
其實日俄兩國至今仍未正式終止二戰交戰狀態，主因為千島群島的主權爭議，日本宣稱擁有千島群島的領土主權，但俄方目前仍占據千島群島群。如今俄羅斯將退出與日本在千島群島商務的談判，取消日本公民的免簽入境待遇。
